Gooseberry-Banana Salad1 16-ounce can gooseberries 1 3-ounce package lime-flavored gelatin 1 3-ounce package lemon-flavored gelatin 1 pint lime sherbet 2 bananas, sliced 1/2 cup thinly sliced celery Drain gooseberries, reserving syrup; add enough water to syrup to make 2 cups liquid. Heat gooseberry Liquid to boiling. Add lime- and lemon-flavored gelatin, stirring till dissolved. Stir in lime sherbet by tablespoonfuls. Chill till partially set. Stir gooseberries, bananas, and celery into gelatin mixture. Turn into 9x9x2-inch pan. Chill till firm. Cut in squares. Makes 12 servings. |
