Frozen Fruitcake Salad1 cup dairy sour cream 1/2 cup sugar 1/2 of 4 1/2-ounce container frozen whipped dessert topping, thawed 2 tablespoons lemon juice 1 teaspoon vanilla 1/2 cup red candied cherries 1/2 cup green candied cherries 1 13 1/4-ounce can crushed pineapple, drained 2 medium bananas, chopped 1/2 cup chopped walnuts Lettuce In mixing bowl blend together sour cream, sugar, dessert topping, lemon juice, and vanilla. Slice the red and green candied cherries. Fold cherries, the drained pineapple, bananas, and nuts into sour cream mixture. Turn mixture into a 41/2-cup ring mold. Cover and freeze till firm. To serve, let stand at room temperature 10 minutes. Unmold onto lettuce-lined plate. Garnish with additional candied cherries, if desired. Slice to serve. Makes 8 servings. |
