French menu

French consider the cooking to be some kind of art and the cooks as artists. When cooking dishes hot spices are used, especially a lot of garlic and onions.

Wine, cognacs, liqueurs are used; the added alcohol in the food during the cooking process evaporates but the food has gained unique taste and aroma.

Of the herbs there are used bean mint, leek, tarragon, rosemary. The herbs that are tied together later are taken out of the food. Popular side dish for meat dishes is- artichokes, asparagus, various cabbages, tomatoes. French love cheese that is served as a dessert.

In France it is common to use vinegar and olive oil sauce which is made in very different ways.
